What the information on this website is, and what it is not.
This page is a draft, and the information here is not medical advice
This page is a draft placeholder. The text below is placeholder legal copy written to show the structure of a medical disclaimer. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. The client will replace it in full with text prepared or approved by the clinic's legal adviser before it is treated as final.
## General information, not medical advice
Everything published on this website is general information about skin concerns, conditions and the treatments the clinic offers. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not a treatment plan.
Reading this website, or sending a message through the booking form or on WhatsApp, does not create a doctor–patient relationship with you. That relationship begins only when you attend an appointment at the clinic and the dermatologist takes your history and examines you.
No treatment on this site should be started, stopped or changed on the basis of what you have read here. If you are unsure whether something applies to you, ask the clinic before you act.
No guaranteed results
## No guaranteed results and no fixed course of treatment
Dermatology and aesthetic results vary from patient to patient, and no result on this website is guaranteed. Before-and-after photographs and clinical images show individual patients at a particular moment; they are not a prediction of what you will get.
The clinic does not promise or state:
- A guaranteed result, or a result within a stated time.
- A fixed number of sessions, or that a condition will be resolved within a set course of treatment.
- A permanent cure for acne, pigmentation, scarring or any other condition. Some conditions can recur, and that is discussed with you at your consultation.
What the clinic can do is assess you properly, explain honestly what is realistic, and plan a treatment that fits your skin and your medical history.
## What Nova Derma is
Nova Derma is a medical dermatology clinic with aesthetic capability. It is a clinical practice led by a dermatologist, not a spa, and the site is written accordingly: clinical language, real assessments, and a plan before any procedure. Nothing on this website should be read as a beauty-salon service description.
Specific points on AviClear®, our services and emergencies
## AviClear®
- AviClear® can be used in adolescents and adults. There is no numerical minimum age stated on this website; suitability is decided by the dermatologist at your consultation.
- AviClear® is not described as pain-free, zero-downtime or side-effect-free. Side effects and downtime are explained to you before treatment.
- Any manufacturer image of an AviClear® patient is of a patient not treated at Nova Derma, and individual results vary.
## Services the clinic does not offer
- Nova Derma does not offer a vascular laser or an IPL service. Nothing on this website should be read as offering, recommending or implying one.
- The clinic has no in-house laboratory, and does not perform skin scraping or patch testing. Where any of these are clinically indicated, they are arranged through an external service.
- On the sexual health and STI pages, HIV and hepatitis B and C are referral only. The clinic does not test for or manage them.
## The booking system and WhatsApp are not emergency services
This website, the booking form and the clinic's WhatsApp line are not emergency services, and messages sent through them are not monitored around the clock. Do not use them for anything urgent.
If you have a spreading infection, facial swelling, a severe allergic reaction or a chemical burn, go straight to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for a reply here, and do not book an appointment first.
[Client to complete: the clinic's out-of-hours contact route and the nearest emergency department reference, if the client wants these printed on the page.]
In an emergency, go to the nearest emergency department rather than contacting the clinic or booking online.
