Medical Dermatology in Amman
Dermatologist-Led Care for Skin Conditions
Most skin conditions are diagnosed, not guessed at. Medical dermatology is the part of the practice that works out what the skin is doing and why, before anything is prescribed or performed.
What we diagnose and treat
Medical Dermatology Covers
The conditions below are seen most often. If yours is not listed, it is still worth a consultation — the diagnosis is the point.
Eczema & Dermatitis
Atopic, contact and seborrhoeic dermatitis, diagnosed by pattern and trigger rather than by appearance alone.
Psoriasis
Plaque, guttate and pustular psoriasis, with the treatment matched to the type and to where it is.
Vitiligo
Assessment of stability and activity, and the treatment options that suit each.
Rosacea
Ocular and cutaneous rosacea, with attention to what is triggering it.
Skin & Nail Fungal Infections
Confirmation before treatment, because what looks fungal is not always fungal.
Warts & Molluscum
Treated according to location, number and how long they have been there.
Mole Check
Assessment of changing moles, and what does and does not need to be removed.
Pediatric Dermatology
Eczema, birthmarks and common childhood skin conditions.
Hyperhidrosis
When sweating is a medical condition rather than a nuisance.
A condition is named before it is treated. That is the whole point of the medical dermatology assessment.
When a Dermatology Consultation Is Worth Booking
A consultation is worthwhile if
- The condition has been there longer than a few weeks
- It is spreading, recurring, or getting worse
- It is painful, itching badly, or bleeding
- Over-the-counter treatment has not changed it
- You are not sure what it is
See a doctor sooner if there is
- A rapidly spreading rash with fever
- Swelling of the face, lips or tongue
- A blistering or peeling rash
- An infection spreading from a wound
Nova Derma is not an emergency service. Anything on the right-hand list belongs in an emergency department.
What medical dermatology covers
Medical Dermatology FAQ
What should I bring to the consultation?
A list of what you have used, and anything that has made it better or worse. Photos taken over time are more useful than one taken today.
Will I need tests?
Sometimes. A skin scraping, a fungal test or a biopsy is only done when it would change the plan.
Is a mole check part of this?
Changing moles are assessed in the medical dermatology consultation, and anything that needs removing is referred on the same day.
Do you treat children?
Yes. Pediatric dermatology is part of the medical practice, not a separate referral.
Name It Before You Treat It
A dermatological assessment is where the diagnosis happens — and where the treatment plan starts.
